One Month to WordCamp Phoenix 2019

We’re just under a month away from WordCamp Phoenix 2019, our 10th anniversary event for learning about WordPress and connecting with others the Arizona and Greater WordPress Communities!

Tickets Still Available

In part due to a return to the Phoenix Convention Center, we still have tickets available for next month! That said, this event has historically sold out, no matter how many tickets are available. Encourage your friends, clients and coworkers to get their tickets soon!

Purchase Tickets

RSVP for the WP 101 Beginners Workshop

If you’re hoping to attend the WP 101 Beginners Workshop — a half-day workshop introducing attendees to WordPress — please RSVP soon so we can have a free, temporary WordPress hosting account available for you to use and follow along during the workshop. No other workshops require RSVP.

Window closing for guaranteed t-shirt size and printed badge

We will continue to sell tickets until they’re sold out, but once t-shirts and badges are sent to printers, we cannot guarantee tickets sold after will include a t-shirt or printed badge (blanks for write-in will be available).

Announcements still coming

We have a number of pending announcements coming in the next few weeks including:

  • Parking pricing and info – We’re still nailing down final pricing and location for parking at Phoenix Convention Center’s multiple garages. We recommend taking advantage of free Park-and-Ride locations along the ADA-accessible METRO Light Rail if you don’t want to pay for parking in Downtown.
  • Location of Saturday Afterparty in Downtown Phoenix – We’re in the process of finalizing the final details for our afterparty, which will include appetizers and a ticket to cover your first adult beverage and fun activities run by local businesses. We’re excited to be back in a location we love — you’ll know as soon as we can spill the beans!
  • Lunch Menus for Friday & Saturday – We’re also finalizing the menus with our local caterer for Friday & Saturday’s lunch. Reminder that we won’t be serving lunch for Sunday’s Contributor Day — check our Local Guide for options near Downtown and there is a restaurant on-site at Galvanize (run by the same company catering lunch on Friday & Saturday!).
  • We’ll be sending reminder emails, with summarized times, locations and other details about the event in the two weeks leading up to camp!
  • We still have a few surprises up our sleeves…

Housekeeping

  • If tickets are still available by the event weekend, we will offer them for sale at registration. We cannot accept cash — PayPal and Stripe (credit card) are the only form of payment we accept online or at the event.
  • If you mentioned you have life-threatening allergies or need other accommodations to attend our event, we’ve started reaching out. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns!
  • If you want your headshot and Twitter handle printed on your badge, please be sure the information was submitted on your ticket (an edit link can be found in your email).
  • A gentle reminder about our Code of Conduct, which applies at all event functions to make this a safe and welcoming event for all. Our venues have policies prohibiting the possession of firearms in accordance with Arizona law, except by on-duty law enforcement with jurisdiction. Additionally, no other weapons are allowed at WordCamp Phoenix.

  1. Any word yet on the parking situation? My decision regarding whether or not I’ll be buying a ticket and attending is still hinging on this at the moment, and I’m sure other attendees are probably curious as well.

    1. Hi Yvan,

We’re waiting to hear from the Convention Center which parking facility they’ll have us park in. We’ll be in the West Building immediately across the street from the Hyatt Regency between 2nd and 3rd Streets. Per their website, the average daily rate is about $12 in their garages. For the first two days at the convention center, you could expect about $20-25 in parking. The Sunday event at Galvanize parking is free but limited. An adjacent paid lot is $5 for the day. Hope that helps and hope we’ll see you in February! There are also nearby Light Rail stations and multiple free Park-and-Ride stations throughout Greater Phoenix.

      Best,
      David
